Rori Rooker

3rd Grade (Rowley)

My name is Rori Rooker. I grew up in Southern California, but have lived in Utah for most of the past 25 years. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Brigham Young University. I have four children, I practice law part time, and now I will be working as an instructor in Mrs. Rowley's 3rd grade class.

From the moment I walked into Mountainville Academy, I knew I wanted my youngest boys to attend! The environment and curriculum were exactly what we were looking for and the administration and teachers were so friendly and welcoming. Three years later, I feel just as strongly about Mountainville. I've enjoyed volunteering in my youngest son's classes over the years and getting to know his teachers and classmates. I've seen the impact a teacher can have on a child's self-esteem, happiness and growth, and I'm thrilled that I'll have the opportunity to brighten a child's day.

My husband and I met while we were law students at BYU. We've been married for 27 years and have one daughter and three sons. Our oldest son is currently serving a mission for our church in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We had no idea how hard it would be to say goodbye for two whole years!

We love living in Highland, so close to the mouth of the American Fork Canyon. I particularly enjoy walking on the many trails near our home with our golden and black labs, listening to audio books and having family dinners in our backyard. I wish that watermelon was in season all year long!

I look forward to being more actively involved at Mountainville.
